To ensure the platform addressed the needs of all target users, I conducted interviews with individuals matching the previously developed personas. These conversations provided valuable insights into their goals, preferences, and concerns:

    Key Insight: They prioritised simplicity and minimal effort in their online interactions. They appreciated the convenience of an online store and preferred avoiding phone calls whenever possible.
    Design Solution: I emphasised a clean, intuitive interface with streamlined navigation and a frictionless purchasing process.
  2. Face-to-Face Customers
    Key Insight: While initially hesitant about transitioning to an online platform, they valued having options for personal interaction. Offering flexibility was key to earning their trust.
    Design Solution: I included features to support phone and in-person purchasing, ensuring their preferred methods of engagement were available.
  3. Business Customers
    Key Insight: Their primary concern was ensuring the lab met industry qualifications for compliance. They also needed bulk purchasing options for operational efficiency.
    Design Solution: I incorporated detailed information about lab certifications and qualifications, along with features for bulk ordering and downloadable compliance reports.

Once a customer’s water testing kit is analysed in the lab, they receive an emailed report summarising the findings. The report uses a traffic light system to visually indicate the water quality status:


• Green: Safe levels, no action required.

• Yellow: Minor concerns that may require attention.

• Red: Significant issues needing immediate resolution.



This system ensures the report is easy to understand, even for users without technical expertise. It supports the needs of key personas:
